Webinar:

Custom Air Handlers: Design and Specifications for Data Centers in 2022

In this webinar we look at the process of effectively specifying and designing a modern computer room air handler. We concentrate our discussion on thermal performance and physical characteristics, as well as address best design practices with an emphasis on tradeoffs concerning air flow, waterside pressure drop, fan selection, and unit footprint.

We also look at effectively communicating the engineer's intent by clearly specifying such things as:

  1. CFM and capacity adjusted for air density at design conditions and location
  2. Electrical characteristics such as power limitations, dual power capabilities, KAIC fusing and harmonic mitigation
  3. General construction characteristics such as metal gauge, insulation, and maintenance clearances
  4. Waterside pressure limitations and control valve selections
  5. Digital communication requirements
  6. Seismic requirements
  7. Any state, local, or municipal code requirements
  8. Testing and validation requirements
